Using PhotoVox

PhotoVox is provided for capturing and organizing topic-based notes with typed text, photos, audio recordings, editable transcript text, search, and backup/export/import. You are responsible for the notes, images, audio, and other content you create or import.

User content

You keep ownership of the photos, recordings, typed notes, transcript text, exports, backups, and other user-created content you add to PhotoVox. Keep your own backups of important records.

Local data and backups

The PhotoVox app is local-first by default. Export a backup before switching browsers, clearing site data, or deleting local app data. Backup/export/import is a manual local ZIP transfer path, not cloud backup. PhotoVox may not be able to recover local browser data after it is removed from your device or browser profile.

Accounts and future sync

Email/password, email sign-in link, and Google sign-in support may be available where configured. Apple sign-in remains planned/pending until final manual verification. Signing in currently does not upload, download, merge, or sync local notes. Backup/export remains the current transfer path. Sync is planned as a gated Tier 3 / Professional feature and is not production released. If sync or cloud media storage is enabled later, it requires clear user-facing copy and explicit enablement before notes, transcript text, photos, or audio leave the device for account sync.

Account and local data deletion

Account/auth deletion, future cloud-data deletion, and local browser/device deletion are separate. Deleting an account does not automatically remove local notes from every browser or backup ZIP you control. Cloud deletion only applies to data that was actually uploaded to cloud services. Billing or payment records, if billing is added later, may have separate legal/accounting retention requirements.

Transcription

When transcription is configured and enabled, recordings can become editable, searchable text after explicit user action and consent. If cloud/API transcription is used, audio may leave your device for processing. Original audio should remain attached if transcription fails. Do not rely on transcription output as professional advice.

Paid features

Final pricing, paid tiers, transcription allowances, Professional sync packaging, and paid feature availability are not finalized in the current product authority docs. PhotoVox should not delete user-created local data solely because a paid entitlement is inactive, unavailable, or expired.
